AROUND 200 people come to Emersons Green Village Hall for a celebration of the season.
The annual Autumn Gathering, organised by Emersons Green Town Council with volunteer groups including the Friends of Emersons Green Park, featured activities including apple cider vinegar making, bean and bulb planting, seed and plant swaps, and bird box building.
Among the most popular exhibits was a Chelsea Flower Show-style walk-through ‘Wildlife Welcome Garden’, set up in a corner of the hall complete with shrubs, flowers and a paved footpath.
The event was combined with an exhibition of photographs from this year’s town council photography competition, with a prize-giving for the winning entries that are included in the council’s 2026 calendar.
Musical entertainment was provided by the Page Park Ukulele Band.
ELCoE( Emersons and Lyde Community Energy) and Retrofit West had stalls with experts on hand to offer energy-saving advice, and there was also an exhibit telling the story of one of the gardens in the area’s Community Nature Reserve.
All donations raised on the day are going to support a new group, Friends of Blackhorse Meadows, which is holding a bulb planting day at the site on November 8 from 10am to noon.
Town council environmental services manager Paul Kearsley said: “We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who braved the weather to make this event such a success.
“Your enthusiasm and participation truly brought the community together and created a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
“We look forward to seeing you at future events and continuing to celebrate the wonderful spirit of Emersons Green.”
