Show proves Emersons Green’s got talent!

MORE than 30 performers took to the stage at Emersons Green Village hall for the first ever Talent on the Green contest.

A line-up including singers, dancers, musicians, dancers and magicians kept the audience enthralled and gave the panel of three judges a tough task in picking out winners at the event on October 17.

Performers came from across Emersons Green, Lyde Green and the surrounding area.

It was organised by village hall staff with support from Emersons Green Town Council.

Hall manager Nikki Frost said: “It was a fantastic celebration of creativity, entertainment and community spirit.

“The event provided a platform for individuals and groups to step into the spotlight, showcase their abilities and share their passion for performing.

“With an incredible display of talent throughout the show, the judges certainly had their work cut out for them, as each act brought something special to the event.”

The overall winner was teenage singer Amelie Grace, with dancers Dilen + Naviru named runners up.

Amplify Academy Musical Theatre Group took third place after judges Ella Arnold, Josh Pollard and Daryl Hembrough had to make some tough decisions.

Nikki said: “With so many brilliant performances, choosing the winners was no easy task, and we are incredibly grateful to all three judges for their enthusiasm, encouragement and thoughtful consideration.

“It was wonderful to see so many talented people under one roof, showcasing such a diverse variety of performances.

“We are incredibly proud of everyone who took part. It takes a huge amount of courage to perform in front of an audience, no matter your age, and every single performer should be proud of what they achieved.”

Nikki thanked Emersons Green Town Council for supporting the event, including youth liaison officer Shea Stew, who helped with the show’s music.

She said: “Talent in the Green was about much more than winning prizes. It was a celebration of confidence, creativity, courage and community spirit, giving performers an opportunity to shine and audiences a chance to discover the amazing talent on their doorstep.

“A heartfelt thank you goes to every performer who took part, the families and friends who supported them, and everyone involved in making the event such a special occasion.

“We can’t wait to see even more talent take to the stage in the future!”
