An outstanding effort!

EMERSONS Green Primary School has been given an award for its ‘outstanding’ work to promote eco-friendly travel to school.

The platinum accreditation is the top level of the Modeshift STARS active travel programme, which encourages families and staff to ditch cars in favour of healthier options such as walking, cycling and scooting on the school run.

Head of school Soraya Young said: “Central to this success is the dedication of the school’s Green Team — a group of enthusiastic children who have championed eco-friendly travel initiatives throughout the year.

“Their efforts include organising walk-to-school days, cycling workshops, and awareness campaigns encouraging families to choose active travel modes.

“This achievement reflects the school’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and its role in preparing children to be responsible global citizens.”
