AN MP visited Pucklechurch Primary School to see how it is working with Bristol Rovers on an exercise and nutrition programme.
Claire Young, whose Thornbury & Yate constituency includes the village, joined Year 5 pupils, staff and representatives from Bristol Rovers Community Trust for a spot of exercise at the school in May.
The Joy of Moving initiative is delivered by the community trust and backed by the English Football League and Ferrero.
It combines classroom lessons on nutrition with games in the playground to get children enjoying exercise.
Ms Young sat in on a lesson and then took part in some of the games outside.
She said: “It was a really enjoyable and interesting afternoon.
“I tried some of the games – but it has to be said the kids were just too quick for me!”
